Boston and Baseball: Josh is 27!

I love throwing themed parties!! Josh hasn't let me throw one for him in two years so I was so excited when he said that I could this year!

He turned 27 and the Red Sox are the reigning world champions so it made sense to throw a Boston and baseball party! The Red Sox had get 27 outs each game in order to get to the World Series and win it (not counting overtimes) so that's why this theme fit so well.

I didn't have enough time to buy Boston themed decorations but we have a friend here in Baton Rouge who is from the Boston area who was happy to help us out by giving us all of her Boston related t-shirts so I decorated out apartment by hanging them around!!

We told our friends to wear baseball themed clothes and many of them did! I completely forgot to take pictures during the party because I was busy chatting and hosting but I did take some pictures beforehand!

The food was all food that you may eat at a ballpark: chili dogs, peanuts, pretzels, crackerjacks and nachos.

I thought a while about what kind of cake I should get for Josh and then it came to me.....Green Monster cupcakes!! It was a great way to tie Fenway into the party and Josh loved them!

After we ate and sang to Josh and ate some more, some of us went to the Soul Rebels concert to hear brass band music. We have to get our fix since there probably isn't as much in Denver!!

I loved celebrating Josh's first birthday as a married couple and can't wait for many many more!! With as many more fun themed parties as he will allow!

The Saunders are on the move

It's hard to believe that I have been in South Louisiana for 6 years now and Josh has been here for 5 years. We love Baton Rouge and all of the people we've met while here but it's time for our adventurous spirits to lead us to a new place!

With that said, we are moving to Denver, Colorado this summer!! Josh will continue teaching and I am hoping to take an assistant principal position. We are looking forward to cooler weather (maybe that's only Josh) and amazing outdoor recreation!!

I took these pictures a few weekends ago when we both went up to look around and interview. On one of my walks around, I saw these geese in a snowy field outside the Denver Convention Center and thought it looked so cute!

In the picture below, Denver is right in the middle- that patch of tall buildings in front of the gorgeous mountains!!

After July, if you are in the Denver area, give us a call!!
