My little sister graduated from college!!

This makes me feel old for sure. I'm super proud of Hanna graduated from the University of Georgia this past weekend though!! Josh and I started our trip after school Thursday and finished the drive Friday morning in time to see Hanna's commencement ceremony with the Psychology Department that afternoon.

The campus has changed so much since I was there! The new Tate Student Center looked nice and they are building a new dining hall across from Tate to replace the Bolton dining hall. Charlotte and I ate at Bolton every day when we lived in the dorms freshman year so it's sad to see it go but a much needed improvement!!

Later that evening, we attended the big undergraduate ceremony in Sanford Stadium. Holly and I graduated on Saturday mornings so it was cool to experience a night graduation complete with a fireworks show right after the Bulldogs 4th quarter song!! When I heard there would be fireworks at the graduation I had doubts but it was awesome.

I'm so glad that the whole family was able to come watch Hanna graduate!!

Graduating between the hedges is so wonderful!!

President Morehead speaking

Hanna is standing in this picture below because she was an honor graduate!! She's the one in the graduation robe and hat.

The next day we went kayaking down the Broad river with friends and I forgot my waterproof camera again. This is the one I left in the boat while snorkeling in Cabo.... Anyways it was tons of fun and we got off the river a few minutes before a downpour so we timed our trip perfectly!

Later Saturday evening we had a family dinner to celebrate Hanna's graduation and I handed out presents from Cabo, Hanna's graduation present, Holly's birthday present and Mama's Mother's Day present. It's tough living far away!!

Sunday Josh and I made the long drive back to Louisiana but it's our last one because we leave for Denver in 5 weeks!!!

Honeymoon in Cabo: Mountain Biking

Mountain biking in Cabo aka Josh's favorite part about our honeymoon. Even before we were married he always talks about wanting to write a bike and how Louisiana is too flat so we he read about this adventure, he was all in. Being the loving wife that I am, I went along too! :)

To get to the mountain biking location, we rode in a van north from Cabo San Lucas for around 20 minutes and then got on one of the vans you see below and ride for another 10 minutes. Our van was having trouble staying cranked so it was just as much of an adventure as our bike ride.

Before our ride we all took pictures with this camel. Another one of their adventures is to ride on camels on the beach and the mountain biking was at the same place so they added a camel pic into our adventure.

This picture below is a great snapshot of the entire morning. Josh is smiling ear to ear having so much fun and I'm behind him thinking why am I not laying on the beach right now?

It was a gorgeous day and it was so pretty riding through the desert and seeing the Pacific Ocean the entire time. We also saw the oldest cactus in Los Cabos. It's around 350 years old! Here's a shot of the sun shining through it.

We were in a group with a tour guide, a photographer and three other couples. The photographer took great pictures of the group riding through the desert!

Here's Josh again happy as a clam.....

...and me with no smile at all. I promise I was having more fun than the picture shows!

At one point we stopped and walked out to the ocean. Our guide pointed out a sea turtle nest with pieces of eggs around it. I'm hoping the turtles made it to the ocean instead of being a meal for a fox or something.

The photographer had each couple take a jumping shot in front of the ocean. I'm pretty proud of ours especially since we are jumping in soft sand!

Here's a shot of our whole group.

This hill that I'm climbing below was a beast. You would think you were almost at the top and then go around a curve and see that you weren't even halfway yet! I definitely wasn't smiling during this moment....

....but Josh was! Even climbing hills was fun to him.

This view at the top of the hill was definitely worth it though!! Those black spots are where I didn't keep my phone in line for the panoramic shot

We made it to the top!!

My strong husband! I was a little disappointed that we also didn't take a picture with me holding the bike up.

That afternoon we went back to the resort and took naps by the beach so I got my beach time in after all!!

I'm voting that we take anniversary trips just like this one every year! I just need to talk Josh into it now.

Honeymoon in Cabo: Snorkeling

One day of our wonderful honeymoon, we went snorkeling in the Chileno Bay with Cabo Adventures. It was such a gorgeous day and a fun adventure!! This was definitely my favorite part of the trip!

We boarded a boat that looked like a huge raft with a motor and took a ride down the Los Cabos coast to the Chileno Bay. This beach has a Blue Flag Certificate of Excellence which is awarded based on water quality and environmental management. Only 5 beaches in Mexico have this award so it's a pretty big deal!

We bought an underwater disposable camera to take pictures with and we remembered to bring it with us on the trip.....but we jumped out of the boat without it...whoops.

Cabo Adventures had a photographer that took pictures of us and our adventures though and her pictures are much better than anything we could have taken!

There were SO many fish!! I got paranoid when they would all group around me because I thought they were going to bite me or something but it was so cool to see them!! There were many different kinds of fish but these striped fish are the only ones we have pictures of.

Our guide found a puffer fish and called us over to hold it. His spikes were very sharp but when I was holding it, the fish started moving his fins and it scared me!!

I know my life jacket looks funny but they are required by the lifeguards in this beach and our guide said that if we wrapped them around our torso instead of our neck, we could snorkel better. Josh was a dare devil and took his off for a while.

On the ride back to the marina, our tour guides took us by the Arch and other landmarks at the point where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of California.

In the picture below, Josh and I are the first two from the camera on the left.

Here are some better pictures of the sea lion colony next to the Arch. This little guy below was so cute when he tried a few times to get up on the rock. He had to wait for the right wave to lift him up high enough.

On our way into the marina this fishing boat below was also coming in. A sea lion started following the boat and this fisherman would throw small fish at him. Well I guess he got tired of swimming behind the boat because he suddenly sprang out of the water and sat on the back of the boat as you can see so that he didn't have to work at all to get the fish!!

I love this shot of the pelicans on this boat. I assume its their boat or at least they think it is.

My last honeymoon blog post will be our mountain biking adventure aka Josh's favorite part of the trip!!
