Honeymoon in Cabo: Snorkeling

One day of our wonderful honeymoon, we went snorkeling in the Chileno Bay with Cabo Adventures. It was such a gorgeous day and a fun adventure!! This was definitely my favorite part of the trip!

We boarded a boat that looked like a huge raft with a motor and took a ride down the Los Cabos coast to the Chileno Bay. This beach has a Blue Flag Certificate of Excellence which is awarded based on water quality and environmental management. Only 5 beaches in Mexico have this award so it's a pretty big deal!

We bought an underwater disposable camera to take pictures with and we remembered to bring it with us on the trip.....but we jumped out of the boat without it...whoops.

Cabo Adventures had a photographer that took pictures of us and our adventures though and her pictures are much better than anything we could have taken!

There were SO many fish!! I got paranoid when they would all group around me because I thought they were going to bite me or something but it was so cool to see them!! There were many different kinds of fish but these striped fish are the only ones we have pictures of.

Our guide found a puffer fish and called us over to hold it. His spikes were very sharp but when I was holding it, the fish started moving his fins and it scared me!!

I know my life jacket looks funny but they are required by the lifeguards in this beach and our guide said that if we wrapped them around our torso instead of our neck, we could snorkel better. Josh was a dare devil and took his off for a while.

On the ride back to the marina, our tour guides took us by the Arch and other landmarks at the point where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez/Gulf of California.

In the picture below, Josh and I are the first two from the camera on the left.

Here are some better pictures of the sea lion colony next to the Arch. This little guy below was so cute when he tried a few times to get up on the rock. He had to wait for the right wave to lift him up high enough.

On our way into the marina this fishing boat below was also coming in. A sea lion started following the boat and this fisherman would throw small fish at him. Well I guess he got tired of swimming behind the boat because he suddenly sprang out of the water and sat on the back of the boat as you can see so that he didn't have to work at all to get the fish!!

I love this shot of the pelicans on this boat. I assume its their boat or at least they think it is.

My last honeymoon blog post will be our mountain biking adventure aka Josh's favorite part of the trip!!
