Josh's parents visit us in Denver

About a week after my parents left to go home to Georgia, Josh's parents flew out here to spend time with us over Labor Day weekend and watch Matt's two soccer games. It just so happened that the year we moved out here was the same year that the Naval Academy flew out here to play the Air Force Academy and the University of Denver soccer teams. Great timing!!

The game at the Air Force Academy was delayed due to lightening and both the boys and girls team went into overtime. Here's a good shot of Matt sprinting to pick something up during warm-ups.

The Midshipmen fought hard and after a full game and overtime, the game ended in a tie
1-1.

Saturday, we drove up to show Nate and Cordie Red Rocks Amphitheater and had lunch at the Ship Rock Grille. It was a beautiful day!!

I love seeing the city from this view!

Sunday night, the Navy soccer team played the University of Denver. This was the first game that Matt started!! He is the last in line on the left!!

Here's a shot of Matt ready to go kick some butt

So Matt's team ended up losing in overtime but it was a great game and so fun to see Matt play out here in Colorado!!

The next day, we drove and walked around the wildlife refuge.....

...and drove up to Cheyenne, Wyoming to see one of Nate's cousins and his family. It was my first time ever in Wyoming! The next few pictures are shots of the sun setting over the mountains on our drive back down to Denver. It was absolutely breathtaking.

We were definitely spoiled while Nate and Cordie were visiting because Cordie would have a home cooked meal waiting on us when we got home from work on the weekdays they were here. All good things must come to an end though so now I've discovered freezer meals!! Last Sunday I prepped 10 meals so now all we need to do each day is thaw them and pop them in the oven when we get home! It's magical!! Stay tuned for the next post about our mountain drive to Estes Park to see the beautiful fall colors!!
